Administrative Team
Mrs. Jill Mullen is in her eighteenth year as lead principal of SVMS, twenty third year in Liberty, and twenty-sixth year in education. She started her teaching career in Liberty in the fall of 2000 as a sixth grade math teacher, and she taught math for four years at the middle level. While teaching, Mrs. Mullen was also the Liberty High School Head Varsity Volleyball Coach for two years. Her administrative career started at SVMS where she was the assistant principal during the 2004-2005 school year.
In 2005, Mrs. Mullen returned to her home state of Wisconsin where she served as an associate principal at Greendale Middle School in the Greendale School District in Greendale, Wisconsin, from 2005-2008. She returned to the Liberty School District in August of 2008.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from The University of Iowa, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University, and a Specialist in Education Degree from Northwest Missouri State University in The Superintendency. When at the University of Iowa, Ms. Mullen was a 4-year letter winner with the University of Iowa Women’s Volleyball Team.
Mrs. Mullen has a passion for the middle level learner and has spent her entire career at the middle level. She loves seeing the growth that students make socially, emotionally, and academically during this time frame. She loves seeing students and teachers succeed in all that they do.
Mrs. Mullen enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, and has been thrilled to see the love for learning in her own children. Her two daughters are in college and her son is in middle school. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, watch her daughters play college volleyball and son play football and basketball, exercise, watch sports of any kind, read, listen to music, travel, and continue in her own learning in the area of leadership and the middle school child.

Mrs. Weakley began her career at Liberty Public Schools in 1990. She spent seven years at LMS as a Math, Communication Arts, and Social Studies teacher while coaching basketball at Liberty High School and volleyball at Liberty Junior High. She also spent one year teaching fifth grade at Manor Hill Elementary. Mrs. Weakley treasures her time in the classroom and values the relationships she built with outstanding teachers, administrators, students, and families throughout the Liberty community.

Before joining Liberty Public Schools, Mrs. Weakley taught Junior High Communication Arts and coached high school basketball at her alma mater in Diamond, Missouri.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from UMKC, along with both a Master's Degree and Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from Northwest Missouri State University. She served as the Director of Summer School for six years before taking on administrative roles at Alexander Doniphan Elementary and Warren Hills Elementary. Her return to the middle level has been a fulfilling chapter in her career.

Outside of work, Mrs. Weakley enjoys exercising, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, cooking, and playing cards. She’s a passionate supporter of school athletics and extracurricular activities.
“There are so many opportunities for students to get involved in their school community. I highly recommend students participate in activities offered outside the regular school day as well. Meet lots of people and make lots of friends.”
Family is especially important to Mrs. Weakley. Her husband, Dan, retired from Missouri public education and now serves as the Chief of Operations at the Kauffman Foundation, where he has worked for the past two years. They recently welcomed their first grandchild, Beckett. They have three children. Blake is a teacher at Heritage Middle School and coaches varsity football and track at Liberty North High School; Paige, Beckett’s mom, is a physical therapist at St. Luke’s; and Quinn works for Missouri State University Athletic Department while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology.
Mrs. Jennifer Selock is an experienced and student-centered educational leader, currently in her ninth year as an assistant principal. With a proven track record in best instructional practices, positive relationship building, and innovative ideas, Mrs. Selock brings a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted responsibilities involved in school leadership.
Her career began in 2002 in the North Kansas City School District, and she joined Liberty Public Schools in 2014, with teaching experience at both the elementary and middle levels. In 2015, she taught the Missouri Option Program and served as the Academic and Behavioral Interventionist at Liberty Academy. Mrs. Selock commenced her administrative journey in 2017 as a traveling assistant principal for Shoal Creek Elementary and Heritage Middle School. She holds an Educational Specialist in Superintendency and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University.
Committed to cultivating a community for academic and social growth through mentorship and collaboration with students, families, and staff, Mrs. Selock actively seeks opportunities to grow others in the profession. She fosters a reflective culture centered on best practices, instructional goals, and positive learning outcomes through effective two-way communication and feedback. Her dedication lies in working with diverse learners, supporting classroom instruction and intervention to increase student achievement, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making to address the individual learning needs of all students.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Selock cherishes time with her family. She has been married for 26 years to her husband, Scott, a retired KCPD Sergeant. They have three children: Jacob, who recently graduated from NWMSU; Tyler, who attends UCM; and Megan, who attends the University of Lincoln, Nebraska. Her hobbies include spending time outdoors, walking, reading, and working in her flower beds at home.
