2026-2027 School Year Info
Orientation Information
Orientation Days: August 11th & 12th, 9a-5p:
Orientation Day information is linked here for your convenience. We look forward to seeing our families during this window of time. Almost all of the stations can be done online ahead of time.
General Details
- Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 25th.
- Wednesday, August 26th will be a full day of school.
- We will start our early release Wednesdays on Wednesday, September 2nd where we release at 1:20. If students are a part of a musical/fall play/sport, they will be able to stay at school and be supervised until their practice or rehearsal begins at 2:20.
- Cell Phones: Students will store their cell phones in their lockers during the school day. They may have them out on the school bus. We will send more details prior to school starting.
- Outside drinks (QT/Starbucks): We ask that students not bring outside drinks with them to school. Only water is allowed in the classrooms. The sugary drinks will stain our carpet and attract insects into lockers, so if something is brought from home for lunch, it will need to be thrown away prior to leaving the cafeteria. Our car riders and bus riders have to wait in the gym until the bell dismisses them to the classroom area and we are unable to allow anything other than water in our gym.
- SVMS Back to School Night (for students and parents: open house format): Tuesday, September 1st, 6p-7:30p.

- You will find updates regarding school meals and SchoolCafe
- All handbook & district agreements will be available to review during the online registration.
Proof of Residency Information
All Incoming 6th Graders Will Need to Provide Proof of Residency:
Required for all incoming 6th graders:
- Please have your proofing documents ready when beginning the Returning Student Registration to ensure ease of completion.
- If you are submitting an Evergy bill, you must submit BOTH pages/sides as the back side includes the actual service address. The front shows the mailing address and can differ from the service address. Most registrations get rejected due to this reason.
- See below for acceptable proofs to upload. Registrations will be sent back for completion if these requirements are not met.
Acceptable Residency Proofs:
- Two different utility bills (from within the past 60-days): Water, Gas, or Electric only

- OR a New Lease/Rental Agreement
- Please include the pages with parent/guardian name, lease term, property address and must be signed by you and your landlord
- OR a Settlement Statement from a recent home purchase
- Or a non-contingent sales contract for a new home purchase
Fall Sports information
Fall sports are offered at SVMS including: 7th and 8th grade Cross Country, 8th grade Cheerleading, 8th grade football, and 8th grade volleyball. To see all of the important details, please click the link: “SVMS Fall Athletics Information”. Please make sure that your child has a physical completed by a doctor on the Missouri form (included here) prior to tryouts/first practice. These are good for 2-years. All athletes will need to go into “Final Forms” to sign-off on health forms, upload the physical form, and complete code of conduct forms. Final Forms will need to be all green in order to be able to try out or practice.
