Outside Drinks (to go coffee/tea/fountain drinks)

We ask that students not bring outside drinks into the building, including to go coffee or fountain drinks.Our car riders and bus riders will all stage in our gymnasium prior to our release time at 7am and we are not allowed to have beverages that will cause a sticky mess if they are spilled. Students will be asked to throw those drinks away upon entry.

The majority of our rooms are carpeted and the sticky drinks when spilled stain our carpet. Also, when left in the lockers, the sticky drinks attract insects. Students are allowed to bring water into the hallways and classrooms. If students have home drinks with their lunches, we ask that they are consumed in the cafeteria prior to exiting or thrown away.

Tardy Policy

TARDINESS - A student is considered tardy when he/she is not in their assigned place and seated when the tardy bell rings. A student who is twenty-two or more minutes tardy is considered absent for that period. (Truant*) Generally, all tardies will be considered unexcused. Excuses of the nature usually received (restroom, locker trouble, teacher let me out late, etc.) will not be accepted. An accumulation of multiple unexcused tardies to their classes will result in the student being assigned the appropriate consequences listed below: 

NUMBER OF TARDIES PER QUARTER (All classes combined)

4 Tardies = Adult Conference with Student 

6 Tardies = Lunch Detentions/Parent Contact / Email

8 Tardies =Extended Day School/Parent Contact / Email

+2 Added EDS for each possible ISS/Contact Parent If tardies continue to be an issue - Admin will assign an escort.

Drop off and Pick up Procedures

SVMS AM:

*Bus drop off will be in the front of the school (East Side)

*Car Rider drop off will be in the back of the school (West/Track Side) - Parents will enter the south SVMS driveway, come around to the new gym entrance and then loop back around to exit our same south SVMS driveway. Our back entrance will be open at 6:45 for students to enter the school and wait in our old gym for our 7am dismissal into the main part of the school.

SVMS PM:

*Bus pick up will be in the back of the school (West/Track Side)

*Car Rider pick up will be in the front of the school (East Side) - we ask that parents wait in the loop and do not park in our main parking lot or block parking spots so our traffic flow can come/go safely.  Students will be able to walk to their family car in the loop.
